With the holidays at an end, but a new year (and decade!) beginning, the 2020 Golden Globe fashion trends are here! Let’s take a look at some of our favorite looks from the red carpet.
Puffy Sleeves
It seems as if puffy sleeves are here to stay. Tons of looks on the red carpet showcased these statement arm candies and not in the dated way. Celebs definitely need to commend their stylists for the perfection of their outfits. Bel Powley stunned in a powder blue Miu Miu deep V-neck vintage satin gown. Meanwhile, Isla Fisher opted for a bold violet magenta Monique Lhuillier off-the-shoulder sheath. The Golden Globes fashion trends are definitely on point with the sleeves this season.
Off-the-Shoulder Pleats
The queen herself, Helen Mirren, slaying it as always, on the red carpet. Her deep red Dior Haute Couture gown falls flawlessly off her shoulder as the contrasting white underlayer peeks out from below. Not only does the off-the-shoulder sleeve look classy, the gorgeous neckline pleats adds texture to the richness of the fabrics making those collar bones pop! Just like tour Jasmine Collection best seller, the sleeves falling just below the shoulder adds sexiness without revealing too much.
Over-Sized Bows
Scarlett stepped out on the red carpet with not only her fiancé and a new rock, but also this stunning red Vera Wang strapless gown. The oversized bow gave the simple, yet bold dress that added flair. It’s a fun and playful embellishment to the classic ball gown. While the front was sexy with a deep sweetheart neckline, the back’s bow kept things cute.
Capes & Menswear
Capes are the new staple for princess brides, so move aside, tiaras and crowns. Frozen star, Idina Menzel, looked like royalty at the Golden Globes in her all-white Stella McCartney dress and cape. The real-life Elsa had ice adorning her neckline, giving the sleek white crepe gown some sparkle. Her gown also resembles celeb bride, Hilary Duff, who also made front page news wearing a boxy shoulder cape gown. But not only that, menswear was a major hit on the red carpet, like Kate McKinnon’s tuxedo from Prabal Gurung. In addition, her suit jacket top with sequin leaf embroidery kept it feminine and beautiful.
Ruffles
Ruffles!!! This predicted 2020 bridal trend is proving so. While tulle ruffles were surely a Golden Globes fashion trend, but the most note-worthy were both Gwyneth Paltrow and Molly Sims. Actress Gwyneth made headlines in her nearly sheer ensemble by Fendi and we can see why! Not all was revealed, thanks to the ruffles down the A-line tulle skirt. Model, Molly Sims, paired her ruffle skirt with a structured bodice with metallic trim.
