Meet Real Jasmine Bride Audrey + Husband, Ryan
We met at a friend’s New Year’s Eve party. There was no single moment when I knew he was the one. It was the little things everyday that built up to an understanding that we were stuck with each other. We could be completely ourselves around each other without judgment. We enjoy the same activities (punk concerts, running, craft beer, napping, and our pets) but also enjoy our lives separately and can be fully independent of one another. Ryan and I eloped 6 months before our wedding. He “proposed” a month later by building a shadowbox with our concert memorabilia and the ring as a Christmas gift.
Wedding Details
We got married on May 10, 2019 at The Art Factory in Paterson, NJ. Our wedding day was a chaotic mess of fun! I had never really dreamed up my wedding as a kid so I can’t say it was everything I dreamed of, but it was the party we hoped it could be as we were planning it. The elements and details we incorporated were uniquely us, we had the people in our lives dancing up a storm and I managed to eat every dish the kitchen put out (#1 goal of mine).
My dress shopping experience was a rollercoaster ride. I went into it not really knowing what it was I wanted. My best experiences were with Cinderella Bridal in Matawan and Jaehee Bridal in Englewood where I eventually purchased my dress. Aja, our consultant, was incredibly patient and open-minded. I tried on several styles, colors, shapes, etc. Once the Jasmine dress went on, I knew it was a top contender. However, it was so different from my other top choice that I knew I had to add the over skirt to pull both style elements I loved together.
I gave my bridesmaids a range of color options from purple to red and everything in between. There were no stipulations, price points or style restrictions. The end result was better than I could have ever imagined. The men wore a mix of grey and navy suits with matching maroon ties and Converses.
I chose the Jasmine halter with open-back, intricate lace detail and illusion waist band. Wearing it make me feel like dancing! I knew it was the one because I felt like myself in it. Just how a Real Jasmine Bride should feel.
