Bride Laura reached out to us about her bridal party loving their bridesmaid dresses for her wedding held in Ireland and we couldn’t help but share her story and her blushing wedding day!

How They Met

Laura’s younger sister, and best friend, was her maid of honor. And three of her closest housemates from university were her bridesmaids. These ladies met over 10 years ago and have remained solid through many milestones of life. From moving abroad, to celebrating nuptials to having babies, they have supported one another through tough times.

Saying Yes to the Bridesmaid Dress

For this bridal party, it was tough! Laura lives in Vietnam, one bridesmaid lives in Singapore and the other 3 bridesmaids are spread across the UK. They all had one day together in Cambridge to find styles they liked, but it wasn’t very successful. Laura originally thought she wanted sequins, but in the end it was too difficult to find a style everyone liked. She researched bridesmaid dresses online and found Jasmine dresses. She quickly fell in love with a lot of different ones. Her sister and bridesmaid, Charley, were both real heroes here. Laura’s sister went to London and spent a day in bridal salons trying on Jasmine dresses and sending her pictures. Charley did the same and soon enough, the girls managed to find a gorgeous dress that suited everyone.

Laura stuck to a color palette of blush pink, whites and greens rather than having a set wedding theme. The bridesmaid dresses were a beautiful pink Gardenia colorway by Jasmine, which matched the groomsmen’s ties. The bridal party boasted about how comfortable the bridesmaid dresses were. This “is a huge bonus when you have to wear them all day.”

The ladies loved the simple, but elegant style of Jasmine Bridesmaids Style P186052. Once they put the dresses on, they all could feel the quality of them. Out of everything the bridesmaids tried, Jasmine was definitely their favorite. One bridesmaid was notably pregnant, but Laura said, “the maternity version of the dress was fab and she looked gorgeous.”

The Wedding Day

The bride and groom had so many compliments on how gorgeous the girls looked in their bridesmaid dresses. “It’s a really special moment to be a bride surrounded by your favourite girls and I’m so happy they loved what we chose.”. To compliment the bride’s look, their bouquets were smaller version of hers. Loose flowers in white, pinks and greens, mixtures of peonies and rose with lots of greenery. It really set the color of the bridesmaid dresses off.

Laura is English and her husband, Jonny, is Irish, so they chose Ireland for the wedding. Who doesn’t love an Irish wedding?! They hired the venue for two days and decided to do a pre-wedding gathering. This gave guests a chance to mingle before the wedding and have a better opportunity to peak to everyone. Plus, any of their travelling guests could make a long weekend out of the trip. They had a BBQ the day before the wedding with a majority of the guests in the venue’s beautiful courtyard. Not only that, the weather was glorious. Although, the morning of the wedding, the skies were dark (!) and there were threats of thunderstorms.

Laura and Jonny dreamed of marrying outside in the garden. Their venue was amazing at keeping her calm and not worrying about the inclement weather. They thankfully had the ceremony and majority of photos done outside before the torrential rain started during the drinks reception! Luckily it didn’t matter at that point. After dinner, they had some Irish dancing as entertainment which guests absolutely loved, English and Irish alike. Then the band played through until midnight, with the DJ carrying on until 2AM. The new Mr. and Mrs. danced the night away with their favorite people and loved every single second.
